News Whole Foods' 12 Best Cheeses Are Going on Sale for 35% Off This December Did someone say cheese sale? We're in! By Dillon Evans Dillon Evans Dillon Evans fell in love with cooking at a very young age. He remembers the novel experiences of microwaving a bowl of oatmeal without his parents' permission and asking to make his mother's morning pot of coffee. These moments became catalysts for his interest in cooking and baking. EatingWell's Editorial Guidelines Updated on December 8, 2023 Is it really the holidays if a cheesy dish isn’t on the table? Whether it’s a pan of ooey-gooey macaroni and cheese or some creamy scalloped potatoes, cheese will always have a special place at my holiday dinner—or any dinner for that matter. This year, however, you’ll want to whip out your best serving boards, because Whole Foods just announced their eighth annual 12 Days of Cheese event. Every year, Whole Foods Market’s Specialty Cheese team (hello, dream job!) selects a collection of a dozen delicious cheeses from across the globe, and this year is no exception. From the herbaceous and floral Cypress Grove goat cheese to the award-winning, cave-aged Gruyère from Uplands, each one is the perfect addition to any party spread—plus they’re all on sale from December 13 to 24 (35% off if you’re a Prime member and 28% if you’re not). The selection is diverse to say the least, and we’re so excited to use the Emmi Kaltbach Cave Aged Gruyère to make Butternut Squash Soup with Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. And Vermont Creamery Bijou is just the cheese to stuff into bacon-wrapped dates. Better yet, it’s probably worth it to stock up on an array of cheeses to build our beautiful Winter Charcuterie Board for your next movie night or holiday party. Stores will also offer a sampler bag of three of the featured cheeses along with Savannah Bee Whipped Honey and crackers for $34.99. We agree with Whole Foods Market’s veteran cheese expert Cathy Strange that it would make a perfect host gift!
