Robitussin Cough Syrups Recalled Nationwide Due to Microbial Contamination

There’s an active recall on two Robitussin cough syrup products, according to the Food and Drug Administration. This is due to microbial contamination.

The two products impacted by this recall are Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult and Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult. The following lot numbers and expiry dates are affected:

  • Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult (4-ounce), lot number T10810, expiration date displayed as “31OCT2025”
  • Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult (8-ounce), lot number T08730, T08731, T08732, T08733 or T10808, expiration date displayed as “31MAY2025” or “30SEP2025”
  • Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult (8-ounce), lot number T08740 or T08742, expiration date displayed as “30JUN2026”

Consuming this contaminated product could result in a fungal infection, which can be life-threatening for immunocompromised individuals. If you’re experiencing symptoms of fungal infection like fatigue, headache, chest pain, muscle aches or asthma-like symptoms after using one of the recalled cough syrups, contact your health care provider immediately. 

If you have a bottle of Robitussin that matches the recall information, dispose of it immediately or return it to the brand.
