Over 100,000 Bottles of Mouthwash Recalled Due to Poisoning Risk for Children

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there’s an active recall on approximately 102,100 bottles of hydrogen peroxide mouthwash. This is due to a lack of proper sealing, resulting in a poisoning risk for children.

“The recalled mouthwash contains ethanol in a concentration which must be in child-resistant packaging, as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act,” the CPSC reports. “The packaging of the products is not child-resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.”

Today, the recall was enforced on Heritage Store brand’s Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash in Wintermint and Eucalyptus Mint flavors. These bottles were sold at Whole Foods Market and online through Amazon, the brand’s website and more.
