Chick-fil-A just recalled their Polynesian sauce dipping cups since the product may contain an entirely different sauce with soy and wheat allergens.

According to the company’s warning notice shown at the top of their website and in their app, the impacted sauce cups would have been “taken home between February 14-27, 2024.” This recall is nationwide and affects all Polynesian sauce cups sold during those dates.

There have yet to be any reported illnesses or allergic reactions due to this incident. However, Chick-fil-A is urging customers to discard the sauce cups immediately.

If the recalled cups of Polynesian sauce are consumed by those with soy or wheat allergies, they risk developing an allergic reaction, which can range in severity based on an individual’s sensitivity. The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) reports common symptoms of allergic reactions to soy and wheat include (but are not limited to) nausea, stomach cramps, headaches, hives and, in rarer, more severe cases, anaphylaxis.

Anaphylaxis is life-threatening and can come on suddenly and progress rapidly, notes the ACAAI. Hives or swelling, tightness of the throat, hoarse voice, nausea and/or vomiting and more are signs you may be experiencing an anaphylactic reaction. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, call 911 immediately.

For questions regarding this recall, contact Chick-fil-A CARES at 1-866-232-2040, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET.
