This is due to potential contamination; the products may contain Listeria monocytogenes. BrightFarms’ supplier, Element Farms, conducted routine sampling where results showed positive results for Listeria on their spinach. This recall includes spinach as well as salad products that may have been in contact with the contaminated spinach. Below is the list of products affected by this recall: BrightFarms Baby Spinach, UPC 8-57062-00492-3, “best by” date printed as 1/11/2024, 1/13/2024, 1/18/2024 or 1/20/2024BrightFarms Mediterranean Crunch Kit, UPC 8-50051-82501-1, “best by” date printed as 1/15/2024 or 1/20/2024BrightFarms Chickpea Caesar Crunch Kit, UPC 8-57062-00415-2, “best by” date printed as 1/15/2024 or 1/20/2024BrightFarms Bacon Ranch Crunch Kit, UPC 8-57062-00416-9, “best by” date printed as 1/15/2024BrightFarms Southwest Chipotle, UPC 8-50051-82500-4, “best by” date printed as 1/15/2024 The salad kits are sold in popular regional grocery chains like BJ’s Wholesale Club, ShopRite, Wegmans Food Market and more. The following states are impacted by this recall: Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Check your refrigerator, and if you have any of the above products that match the recall information, dispose of the product immediately or present a photo of the product or receipt to the place of purchase for a full refund before discarding. Exposure to Listeria can cause a contagious infection known as listeriosis. Common symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Young children, those age 65 and older and those with weakened immune systems may experience more severe symptoms, and it can be life-threatening. While there are no illnesses connected to this recall, if you believe you have been infected after consuming one of these products, contact your health care provider as soon as possible.
